New Unis!
Now that we are in more of an "off-season" (although we still have one more performance left to prepare for, we are now focusing on more miscellaneous projects for our team. During the season it is SO hectic that all we really have the time and focus for is practice, technique and choreography. But with that 10 extra hours a week I mentioned in my previous blog post, we get the chance to work on projects that will improve our team as a whole. This off-season's project happens to be new uniforms!!!
As I mentioned in a prior post, we are not university funded. So even things like our uniforms, backpacks and team jackets, we pay for ourselves. Backpacks and team jackets we include in our team fee at the start of each year but uniforms are a little too pricey to include in that. Uniforms can range from $150-$500 a piece (meaning just the top or just the bottom). We have worked so hard fundraising for MVC while also trying to set aside money in our Bravettes savings for new uniforms too. The current uniforms we have are at least 5 years old, which might not seem like many years but when you're dancing in them multiple times a week every school year, they reflect wear and tear quickly. Many of them are losing sequins, acquiring small tears and simply don't fit the dancers that wear them now. When the uniforms were originally purchased, they were fitted to the current team. The team 5 years ago looks very different than our team today, and with a variety of body types we want to make sure everyone has a uniform they feel confident in and that fits them well.
We have looked at many mock-ups and as a team voted on a style we all liked best. Now all that's left to do is get measured and start our order with a Varsity Spirit rep (the company that makes the majority of collegiate dance team uniforms).
As a rising senior I am SO excited to have new uniforms for our senior year that we worked incredibly hard to fundraise for. I can't show you all any of the mock-up pictures yet - you'll have to wait to see them at a game! But know that they look amazing!!
I'm always so proud to wear the Bradley B on my chest!
Till next time -

Again, I would sue Bradley for not providing these for you. There's gotta be someone you can contact. But also, I wouldn't want Bradley to have to dictate how you do your routines. Wild times. I'll be on the lookout for the new uniforms.
